Peer Review Process
Every article submitted to Al Amanah: Journal of Islamic Education will undergo a rigorous selection and review process with the following stages:
-
Initial Screening by the Editor
After the manuscript is received through the OJS system, the editor will conduct an initial screening to assess its suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, as well as completeness of administrative requirements and formatting.
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be returned to the authors without proceeding to further review.
-
Plagiarism Check
Each manuscript will be checked using plagiarism detection software. The maximum similarity tolerance is 20%.
If the plagiarism level exceeds this threshold, the manuscript will be returned for revision or rejected.
-
Double-Blind Review Process
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be sent to two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.
The review process is conducted in a double-blind manner, meaning the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential from each other.
-
Review Outcomes
After the review process is completed, the manuscript may receive one of the following decisions:
-
Accepted without revision
-
Accepted with minor revisions
-
Accepted with major revisions
-
Rejected
-
Revision by Authors
If revisions are requested, authors are given 10–14 working days to submit the revised manuscript.
Revisions must be accompanied by a response letter addressing the reviewers’ comments.
-
Final Decision
The editor will review the revised manuscript and decide whether it can be published.
The final decision rests with the editorial board.
-
Production and Publication
Accepted manuscripts will proceed to final editing, layout, and online publication according to the journal’s publication schedule.
